Snorkelling with turtles at Akumal

Snorkelling with turtles at Akumal

After your morning yoga and breakfast by our private chef, spend your afternoon indulging some of our favourite Riviera Maya things to do -- a visit to Akumal Bay. Regarded by many as the jewel of the Riviera Maya coastline, swim with sea turtles (in Mayan, “Akumal” means “Place of the Turtles”). Akumal also boasts some of the finest white sand beaches in the area.

Another top Riviera Maya thing to do is Tulum’s ruins and its spectacular beaches, or its amazing Muyil river float, the perfect way to experience the beauty and tranquility of the Sian Ka’an Biosphere -- local legend says that these spring-fed waters have magical healing powers!

No trip to the Riviera Maya is complete without a swim in its spectacular cenotes located throughout the region. Cenotes are natural swimming holes formed by the collapse of porous limestone bedrock where Mayans communicated with the gods (the name cenote means “sacred well”) -- don’t be surprised if you feel reinvigorated and renewed as local legend says that these waters have magical healing powers! Swimming in the clear and pristine waters feels like stepping into prehistory, where giant tropical trees and vines form wild cathedral walls leading up to shafts of sunlight.

You’ll also have time to relax at your villa’s beach doing Riviera Maya activities like swimming and body boarding in the warm, welcoming turquoise waters of the Riviera Maya.
